Mike Leasor is a founding partner of Leasor Crass, P.C., where he draws on more than three decades of education law experience to serve public school districts throughout the State of Texas. His path to school law began in the classroom, where he served as a teacher and high school coach in Cedar Hill, Texas, an experience that continues to inform the way he counsels districts today.
Following his graduation from law school, Mike was promoted to administration in Cedar Hill ISD. There he spent five years as Assistant Superintendent and General Counsel being responsible for legal services, policy development, and risk management. After twelve years total with Cedar Hill ISD, Mike served as General Counsel and Risk Manager for Kinro, Inc. and its subsidiaries before turning his focus full time to school law. Mike has dedicated his practice exclusively to representing Texas public school districts, working alongside superintendents, boards, and administrators to navigate the full range of legal challenges that confront modern school systems.
Mike’s commitment to public education extends well beyond the practice of law. He is an Adjunct Professor of Advanced School Law at Dallas Baptist University and Texas Christian University, where he teaches doctoral candidates preparing for careers in school district leadership. He has published in the School Law State Bar Section Report and has served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Political Subdivisions Joint Self-Insurance Funds, contributing to risk management and policy development at the statewide level.
Mike’s community service reflects the same dedication. He has served on the Mansfield Independent School District Board of Trustees, as President of the Mansfield ISD Education Foundation Board, as President of the Mansfield Historic Preservation Board, and as a Board Member for the Mansfield Mission Center. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Southwest leadership training program.
Mike earned his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and his law degree from what is now Texas A&M School of Law in Fort Worth. He continues to enjoy advocating for school districts and playing an active role in the community he calls home.
