Jonas Sims was born and raised in Abilene, the Key City of West Texas. Jonas graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business and a minor in Honors from Hardin-Simmons University in 2022. During his time at HSU, Jonas was involved in choir, Chorus Abilene a cappella groups, theatre productions, and competed in National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions.
In 2025, Jonas graduated from Baylor University School of Law. During his time there, Jonas competed in a number of mock trial and moot court competitions, including being a finalist in the Stetson University College of Law National Pretrial Competition, being a quarterfinalist in the Pace University School of Law National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, and participating in the University of South Carolina School of Law Trial & Tribulations Mock Trial Competition. Additionally, Jonas participated in two of Baylor Law’s study abroad programs, which led to him working for the juvenile justice nonprofit Undikumbukire Project Zambia in Lusaka, Zambia, and being named Top Advocate at the Academy of the Advocate at St. Andrews University, School of the Trial in St. Andrews, Scotland.
Jonas is the son of a lifelong educator and grandson of a retired special education instructor, giving him a unique insight into the difficult and important work Texas educators face on a daily basis, as well as the impact these individuals have on students’ lives. Jonas is deeply honored to be a part of the Leasor Crass team and to have the privilege of advocating for Texas school districts.
Jonas lives in Fort Worth with his girlfriend and their two Shih Tzus, where he enjoys reading, cooking, Baylor football, and Texas Rangers baseball.
